OUR STORY

Farm Foods began in a small shop in Birregurra selling fresh hand-made sausages and locally sourced wine, cheese and condiments. From these humble beginnings, our journey has been one of continuous growth and innovation.

Expanding beyond our initial storefront, Farm Foods ventured into wholesale operations, serving independent supermarkets across Hamilton and coastal Victoria. As demand surged, we invested in state-of-the-art processing facilities, first at Cowie St. North Geelong, then relocating to Boundary Rd, Breakwater in 2009 to accommodate our expanding operations.

Driven by a commitment to quality and adaptability, we relocated once more in 2013 to a larger, more advanced production facility at 60 Leather St in Breakwater, with our headquarters positioned nearby at 70 Leather St. This strategic move empowered us to maintain our tradition of excellence while embracing the latest consumer trends and product innovations.

At Farm Foods, our ethos revolves around fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a persistent pursuit of excellence. We take pride in our craft, ensuring that every product under the Farm Foods name meets the highest standards of quality and taste. Our dedication to superior service extends to every aspect of our business, from our valued partnerships with leading retailers like Coles, Woolworths, Metcash, IGA, Ritchies, and Aldi, to our expanding presence in the international market.

As we embark on new ventures in the B2B bulk market and export sector, we remain steadfast in our commitment to sustainability and community support. OUR HISTORY

  • 1996

    Kerr Brothers begin processing livestock at Brooklyn in Western Melbourne (now JBS Swift).

  • 1999

    Kerr Brothers begin processing livestock at Colac in Western Victoria (now Australian Lamb Company).

  • 2003

    Farm Foods opens in Birregurra, Western Victoria, selling meat wine and cheese to consumers.

  • 2004

    Farm Foods open a store in Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula.

  • 2005

    Farm Foods opens stores in Hamilton in Western Victoria and Torquay near Geelong. We begin processing and packaging in Colac, Western Victoria. We take our first steps in wholesale distribution of “retail ready” packaged products.

  • 2006

    We move to a new larger production facility in Cowie Street, North Geelong.

  • 2007

    The retail stores are gradually sold, and the operators are licenced use the Farm Foods name. This allows us to focus on producing “retail ready” products for supermarkets.

  • 2009

    A new production facility is commissioned in Boundary Road, Breakwater increasing production capacity.

  • 2013

    Continuing to grow, Farm Foods would soon move to our first purpose built manufacturing site at 60 Leather Street.

  • 2017

    Farm Foods begin development of Plant Based protein alternatives.

  • 2018

    We appoint our first non-family member CEO to continue to drive the business forward.

  • 2020

    During the COVID-19 pandemic we prioritised stability and resilience. Amid supply chain disruptions and economic uncertainties, securing long-term contracts was our focus for continuity.

  • 2021

    Despite industry struggles, we capitalised on growth opportunities, particularly in food delivery. Government support and accelerated digital transformation helped us adapt to changing consumer behaviours.

  • 2022

    Throughout the hardships brought by COVID-19, our company thrived by securing long-term contracts and converting casual employees to full-time staff. This strategy enabled us to grow our workforce to a robust 147 employees.

  • 2023

    After navigating the challenges of the Covid epidemic, our diligence paid off, enabling us to get back on track and continue our growth trajectory. Our unwavering focus on success and expansion propelled us forward, ensuring sustained progress and achievement.

  • 2024

    We have expanded our operations, adding in two sites, bringing our total space to 10,000 square meters, positioning us for continued growth in 2025.
